New Center Database! The Center is proud to make available a new database offering free and complete access to UDRP domain name dispute arbitration decisions.

Third annual international ODR competition between law students from all over the globe.  Arbitration, Negotiation, and Mediation competitions to commence November 1, 2003 and culminate at Cyberweek 2004 (Feb. 23-27, 2004).  Please click HERE for participation options.

Final Results -  ICODR 2003 arbitration, mediation and negotiation competitions results are available. Our congratulations to all the participants, and our thanks to the coaches and evaluators.

 

NativeWeb Center collaboration  with NativeWeb.org to develop a draft users' policy with attendant processes for handling disputes that arise within message boards that Nativeweb or its subsidiaries operate.  You may view the Center's executive summary of the project and you can click HERE to view the case studies of the disputes provided by NativeWeb.
 

 

The Center's annual all-online conference was held Feb. 24 - 28, 2003.  We invite you to visit and explore the array of simulations, exercises, demonstrations, resources, discussions and the ICODR competition.

 

International online arbitration, negotiation, mediation competitions culminated during Cyberweek 2003.  Competitors and facilitators are law school students from Europe, North America, Central America, South America, Australia, Asia, the Middle East, and New Zealand.  Evaluators are being drawn from ADR and legal professionals worldwide.

August, 2002 - We congratulate Center Co-directorICANN Janet Rifkin on her appointment as Dean of College of Social and Behavioral Sciences at the University of Massachusetts at Amherst

 

JUNE 25, 2002 - A report on the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers ICANN (ICANN) Reconsideration Policy has been published by Ethan Katsh and Alan Gaitenby.

 

  June 24, 2002 - In Fights Over .Com Names, Trademark Owners Find a Way to Expand Their Domains - the Center is noted in discussion of domain name disputes and arbitrations.

   

The Center and Jossey Bass present EthanOnline Dispute Resolution Book Katsh and Janet Rifkin’s Online Dispute Resolution: Resolving Conflicts in Cyberspace, 2001.

 

           

Markle Foundation

The Center was awarded a Markle Foundation grant to co-produce with Cornell Legal Information Institute a new case management system for ICANN and its UDRP policy for domain name arbitration.
