 ODR Workshops:

A Workshop on ODR was held on June 28, 2003 as part of the conference of the International Association for Artificial Intelligence and Law in Edinburgh, Scotland.  Papers from the workshop will be published in the ADR Online Monthly beginning in July 2003.

ICEC2003 - A workshop on ODR will be held as part of the 5th International Conference on Electronic Commerce in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania September 30 - October 3, 2003.
 

 

The Center was awarded a Markle Foundation grant to develop a new case management database for ICANN and its UDRP domain name arbitrations.  The UDRP database is now available for free public use, the Center invites all to visit and use its search utilities

 

NativeWeb The Center collaborated with NativeWeb.org to develop a draft users' policy with attendant processes for handling disputes that arise within message boards that Nativeweb or its subsidiaries operate.  You may view the Center's executive summary of the project and you can click HERE to view the case studies of the disputes provided by NativeWeb.
 

UNECEThe Center is presently leading a UN working group exploring ODR and IT in economic development strategies.  The working group's most recent meeting was in Geneva June 30 - July 1, 2003.  Please visit the August 2003 ADR Online Monthly for a report from that meeting..
 

The Center and the ICODR 2003 competitions were featured in the December 20, 2002 National Public Radio program On The Media from WNYC.

The Center's fifth annual all-online ODR extravaganza with over 500 registrants from all around the world.  We were pleased to provide a bevy of participation options for the greater ODR community.  Some Highlights:

  • Transcripts of real-time conference on E-Democracy / E-Government with Professor Jane Fountain of the Harvard Kennedy School.
  • Meet an Online Mediator (Mark Eckstein of SquareTrade.com) synchronous discussion transcript.
  • Threaded asynchronous discussions regarding: Current State of ODR, ODR in Transition Economies, ODR in Government, and E-Government / E-Democracy amongst others. Note: you will need to register with the conferencing site to access materials if you have not done so already - registration is free.
